Group-button2

RISE Academy has been shaping upcoming performers into confident professionals since we launched in 2015. This programme is broken up into three parts focusing on specific elements of performing: music production, brand building, and stage prowess.

Students can choose to complete the full programme or take their passion a step further and look into doing the Artist-Producer course where they will learn to produce their own music.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT OUR PROGRAMME

  • Our performance course is one of our most exciting courses. We get you stage ready but more importantly we get your mindset ready to position yourself as a brand.
  • We create opportunities for our students to take the stage at music events and festivals, giving them a real-life taster of their future careers. (COVID-19 dependant)
  • Rise Academy offers Saturday classes for convenience.
Performance _ 2
The Artist Course
We know that it’s not easy for relatively unknown artists to get radio coverage or opportunities to perform at gigs. Tenacity, talent and ambition are important characteristics but so is knowing how to market yourself. We teach you how to set your brand apart from the rest using traditional and social media. Our experienced lecturers will guide you through the intricacies of securing representation and a recording contract.
The Music Course
Most talented artists are not lucky enough to get their music played on the radio. So, how do young performers make it onto the airwaves? The trick is knowing how to attract a music compiler’s attention and understanding what the station is looking for. This course includes classes on intellectual property law, music royalties, and an overview of the music distribution network in South Africa. By the end of this course, students can confidently say they know what requirements their tracks have to meet before ending up on the radio.
The Performance Course
Performing in front of a live audience is very different from recording inside a studio. We teach you how to rearrange your music into a powerful set that will leave audiences begging for more. You will learn about choreography and working with stage crews, dancers, and DJs. By the end of this course, we will give you the chance to showcase your talent on the stage so that you can put your training into practice.
